Choosing the best English course in the UK can be difficult. Many schools offer intensive lessons, but fewer provide full immersion, where English is used naturally throughout the day, not only in the classroom.
At MovingOn Courses, students live and study in a small, professional environment designed to maximise real communication. Classes are limited to a maximum of four students, and learning continues beyond the classroom through meals, study trips, and everyday conversations with teachers and other participants. This structure helps students develop confidence, fluency, and the ability to use English naturally in real situations.

It is not just a course, it is a complete experience. If you are looking for something real, different, professional and friendly at the same time; if you are really committed to improving your English, MovingOn Courses is the best place. Why? 100% English, really 100%; classes with 4 students max, live with teachers, extra activities, no commuting, friendly atmosphere. The teachers are very professional with a wide experience (because you have more than one, I had four, this enriches your experience), different accents, styles… but well coordinated. You live with teachers and the other students so, it is not just the classes, you whole day becomes in a class. Lunch and dinner is a time to speak and do some presentations that you have prepared. The food is healthy and tasty. In the afternoon there are study trips, you visit different and interesting places while you are learning more English, a perfect way to remember at the same time enjoy the open air. Normally you finish the trip visiting some special pubs :). This is when you review your mistakes and any new vocabulary. It is another class 😊 The house is the school, so you save money and time! You only need a minute to get to class. In the house you have all you need, the bedrooms are very comfortable. And the living room, dining room or kitchen are all available for students, so you can share time with your mates, and friends :). The town is lovely with all you will need, locals are friendly and kind. Sonia and Gavin are very fun and creative – they are always trying to help us to improve our English, and they do that! They make you feel at home. I can be writing for long, but to sum up: the experience was really worth it! It was much more than I expected so I would like to come back for more time and I am sure I will.

I spent 4 weeks in MovingOn courses.. First of all, be prepared for more than you expect from a full immersion English course. Sharing the same house with the teachers increases the speed of learning English but… sitting with them on the same table, travelling and even preparing snacks together is incredible. The classes were according to the levels of the students, they were very careful in terms of the topics and the effective use of time. Also after dinners the motivation speeches and encouraging suggestions from Gavin gave us endless energy for the homework :))) The idea of sharing the same house in the beginning has caused me some stress but Gavin and Sonia have a highly friendly attitude and their helpfulness felt me at home from the very first moment. The general hygiene conditions of the house and the quality of the meals was great. As you can see some of the picture here you will have a great time learning English.. I strongly recommend .. This has been the third time that I have returned, delighted to spend a few days at MovingOn Courses. There is nothing like it when it comes to immersive courses! You live, take classes and eat with the teachers. You also have the opportunity to visit places with them, which turns each excursion into class hours in different environments and with unique landscapes. Sonia and Gavin are excellent hosts and make your stay there comfortable and at the same time very useful for improving your English. The cases are small (maximum 4 students) and that is always an advantage to be able to participate more and to be aware of recurring errors that every student has to perfect. Bangor is a very beautiful town and the location of its hotel is only a 2-minute walk from the sea. If I’ve been there 3 times and I still want to go back, it’s for a reason. 100% recommended for its atmosphere (100% in English) but also for the good vibes and the excellent food prepared by Sonia.

I wholeheartedly recommend the MovingOn Courses school!!! It’s more than just an ordinary English school, it’s simply an amazing experience. I spent a week here to improve my fluency. From the very beginning I was completely immersed in English and with wonderful, helpful people. Gavin and Sonia, the owners of the school and the house where classes take place, where we sleep and eat delicious meals (all included in the price of the course!!!), are professional teachers and wonderful hosts. Apart from very personalized and intimate classes with two other teachers, we get much more than we could expect. We talk to native speakers and other students all the time. We also work during very interesting afternoon trips. I wholeheartedly recommend it. Justyna P.S. and apart from all that, Bangor is a beautiful city!

I am an English teacher and was looking for an immersion experience to refresh myself. I contacted various companies offering traditional courses abroad and none of them convinced me, until I found the option of Moving On Courses. The experience could not have been better! It is not a conventional English course or a stay with the teacher. It’s a combination of several things. You receive classes, participate in the life of the house, share time, activities and conversation with the locals, visit the environment (which, by the way, is beautiful) and feel that you are truly immersed in the language and culture. In my opinion, it is the perfect combination: in the morning you learn in class and the rest of the day you put into practice what you have learned, with native people and in real situations, at lunchtime, in the pub, in the car, in the store… With this format you cannot disconnect nor can you have a passive attitude, and that is the best way to learn, without a doubt. If I had to look for an English course for my children, I would bring them to Moving On Courses. Apart from the course, the environment is unbeatable, the accommodation is comfortable and welcoming, Gavin and Sonia have made me feel part of the family and the food is delicious! I have been there for two weeks but I would have liked to stay longer!!

I was looking for an intensive experience where I could speak English as much as possible. This solution turned out to be perfect because it combined the benefits of classroom lessons in a small class (maximum two students per teacher) with the benefits of a family experience where everyone is available to help you improve. The training is therefore not limited to classroom lessons: I shared meals with Sonia, Gavin and the other students, took part in organized excursions and carried out small household chores. I was able to use English in real and practical situations. The school is located in a seaside town, very pretty and well connected to Belfast. The inhabitants are very welcoming and available to talk to you. The course is therefore absolutely recommended for those looking for a super-intensive English course.

It was really worth it, it was a complete immersion. I stayed here for a month, lots of classes, lots of conversation and new friends. The course is really 100% in English. The city is wonderful and has beautiful landscapes, I thought it would be much colder here. Gavin and Sonia’s hospitality and welcome was sensational. The food and de house were extraordinary. I hope to return to continue my studies at another oportunity.
